Distilled in 1996 and matured for over two decades in a single hogshead, this release showcases the delicate, "old-school" cereal and fruit profile that has made Strathmill a secret favorite among blenders for a century.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Elegant and classic Speyside. It opens with floral honey, lemon zest, and fresh green apples. There is a distinct "pastry" quality—think of freshly baked apple pie crust or vanilla sponge cake. As it sits, it reveals deeper notes of beeswax, dry hay, and a hint of dusty dunnage warehouse.

Palate: The mouthfeel is surprisingly oily, a result of the distillery's unique purifier pipes on the stills. The entry is a burst of pears and creamy vanilla custard. This is quickly followed by a savory, cereal-forward core: malted biscuits, porridge oats, and a touch of roasted nuts. Despite the high ABV, it is refined, with a gentle warming spice of white pepper and ginger.

Finish: Long and remarkably clean. The fruitiness fades into a dry, mineral finish with notes of grapefruit pith, cold tea, and a final, lingering touch of honeyed malt.
