The Ardbeg Anthology Collection is inspired by tales of unbelievable encounters – legendary brushes with the strangest creatures ever purported to stalk Islay.

This collection is all about "hybrid" monsters—marrying Ardbeg’s heavy peat with wine casks that the distillery has rarely, if ever, touched before.

The Harpy’s Tale is the first edition in the Ardbeg Anthology Collection. It has been matured for 13 years in rare Sauternes wine casks and married with classic Ardbeg ex-bourbon.

The Unicon’s tale is the 2nd edition of the Ardbeg Anthology Collection. Matured for 14 years in a marriage of aromatic Madeira and classic bourbon casks.

Tasting Notes

The Harpy’s Tale

• Nose: Extra-ripe peaches, honeyed apricots, and floral acacia honey. The smoke is gentle, smelling of wood ash and pine resin.

• Palate: A velvety arrival of lemon curd and white grapes. Then the "Harpy" claws come out: charred oak, aniseed, and medicinal lozenges.

• Finish: A long, bittersweet fade of honey, vanilla, and sooty embers.

The Unicorn’s Tale

• Nose: Rich banana bread, tropical guava, and syrupy sponge pudding. The smoke is sophisticated—think burning cedarwood and eucalyptus oil.

• Palate: Zesty lime and sweet peaches followed by a surge of industrial creosote and menthol. Mid-palate brings nutmeg and clove spice from the Madeira wood.

• Finish: Whimsically smoky with a crisp, dry finish of salted caramel and campfire ash.
